Sales Manager - OEM

This role will support the OEM team by managing the day to day and handling the escalation of issues and customer concerns.  The OEM Sales manager is also responsible for keeping the team focused on their key initiatives and getting bookings and sales.

Job Functions

  • Manage a team of 3-4 account managers responsible for all car manufacturer relationships and sales in the US and Canada.
  • Build strong relationships with our customers at the Manager and Director level to help drive and support the sales process. Handle problem and issue escalation from customers and respond appropriately.
  • Travel to customer locations and meet with multiple key contacts within one account for consulting based meetings related to business initiatives, promotions, programs, and problem identification. 
  • Assist the account managers develop and execute a sales strategy for the account based on the problems they face and help develop a plan to solve the problems.
  • Lead, develop, and manage the OEM account managers to advance our position in the market and continue our success with profitable revenue growth.
  • Focus the team on the top priorities and to not lose sight of the big picture with all of the day to day account management responsibility.
  • This will require the need for good organizational and leadership skills to lead the OEM team through multiple opportunities with the help of a cross functional support team. 
  • Work with Engineering, Marketing, and Operation department peers to influence, prioritize, problem solve, and build consensus.
  • Must be able to learn, understand, and communicate technical issues, solutions and concepts related to batteries and our hardware and software program solutions. 
  • Build strong relationships with the customer contacts to be a trusted resource for any battery / electrical system question or need.
  • Engage and ask tough questions to the team and our customers.
  • Adaptability for variety of audience groups; senior management, management, shop floor, technician.
  • Ensure the team is fulfilling their CRM system expectations.
  • Provide quarterly coaching guidance to all direct reports.
  • Travel 30-40% of the time.

Job Qualifications

  • Education – Bachelor’s degree, marketing or engineering a plus
  • 7+ years of working experience in account management, strategic program management, or consulting leading cross functional teams
  • 2+ years of successful management experience
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong, clear communication skills and exceptional listening and question asking ability.
  • Financial analysis capabilities
  • Continuous improvement drive and dedication
  • Experience in handling multiple accounts/projects, ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Experience working within the automotive industry a plus
  • Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 
  • Familiar working with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and functionality
