Associate Product Manager

General Scope:

Midtronics product marketing responsibilities are divided into two areas of responsibility:  Platform and Regional.    Platform marketing is responsible for driving business success for their business/platform area.   Regional product marketing is responsible for managing all product lines within a given geographical region, country, or customer segment to drive business success in that area. 

The Associate Product Manager has a business-orientation and is responsible for the implementation of the strategic plan for a portfolio of products within a given regional segment. They maintain close relationships with the market (customers, evaluators, and potentials) for documenting and qualifying market problems to drive product strategy and requirements.  This includes identification of appropriate markets and development of effective marketing strategies and tactics for reaching them. This person is involved through all stages of a product or portfolio’s lifecycle, including requirements, road mapping, and driving specific marketing execution to drive business success.

This position involves close interaction with development leads, product architects, key customers, and sales.  A strong marketing orientation and understanding is required.

Position Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in Marketing, Business or Engineering;  MBA a plus
  • Demonstrated marketing competency
  • Pragmatic Marketing Certification a plus
  • Strong leadership skills  - must be able to build trust and set direction for the team, gain alignment with key stakeholders and drive commitments and results 
  • Must be curious, with a natural drive to learn and understand
  • Must be a team player with the ability to develop strong working relationships and partnerships across different departments and with customers
  • A strong business sense – person needs the ability to create product strategy from understanding market problems and opportunities
  • Entrepreneurial drive to take ownership of a regional segment and execution to achieve our growth goals
  • Proven technical aptitude
  • A strong customer orientation with a “how can I help” approach
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to create and edit PowerPoint presentations required
  • Must have above average Excel and numerical analysis skills
  • 0-3 years previous product management/product marketing experience
  • Travel will be required – 20%
